In this phase, I work to understand the problem that needs to be solved, the target users, and the business requirements. I conduct stakeholder interviews, competitive analysis, and user research to gain a deep understanding of the problem space.
Based on the insights gathered in the discovery phase, I conduct user research to validate my assumptions and gain a deeper understanding of user needs and behavior. This might involve conducting user interviews, surveys, or usability tests.
With a clear understanding of the problem and the user, I begin exploring potential solutions through prototyping. I use a variety of tools, such as paper prototypes, wireframes, and high-fidelity interactive prototypes, to quickly test and validate my ideas.
Once I have arrived at a design solution that meets the needs of both the user and the business, I collaborate with the development team to ensure a smooth handoff of the design. I provide detailed design specifications, annotations, and any necessary assets to ensure that the implementation is aligned with my design vision.
In my experience, I firmly believe that the quality of a product is determined by its processes. To improve our products, we must prioritize the improvement of our processes. When starting a project to create a digital product, we face a unique challenge that goes beyond its functionality and aesthetics. Our ultimate goal is to solve a problem, ensure user adoption, generate ROI, increase efficiencies, and meet business goals. This can be an abstract and complex process that requires the participation of many people with different roles and perspectives. Success is not determined solely by design or technology, but also by our ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively through efficient communication and great teamwork.
